Long steel blades have both cephalic and pelvic curves; shanks crossover junction and are held in place by a French lock with screw; handles open from lock to distal end; handles are smooth and long; half circle upward turn handle for finger grips; manufacturer: "M.S. Kern" and marked on base of shank; modification of Bandelocque long type.|
Hugh Hodge designed his forceps in early 1870s.
Horatio G. Kern went out of business in 1893.
