Description 1 pair Elliot's obstetrical forceps. Long steel blades have both cephalic and pelvic curves; shanks have crossover junction and are held in place by an English lock; handles open from lock to distal end; wooden handles have finger grip at top, four notches, and handrest at base; adjustable transverse pin at base of handle to control compression; marked: "Shepard & Dudley N.Y." at shank.
