Binocular compound American microscope manufactured after 1965; American Optical Company model Fifty, painted gray; hollow base has shallow cut-out in front, internal housing for lamp and associated electronics; coarse focus knob adjusts nosepiece up and down, fine adjustment knob mounted on top of coarse knob; abbe condensor beneath stage adjustable for height by knob under stage; lamp beneath condensor; stage clamp adjustable on two axies by a pair of knobs to the right of the stage; trinocular nosepiece mounts three objectives; the head is mounted in fixed position; a knob between eyepieces adjusts distance between them, while left adjustable for height; square shaped stage painted a darker gray than rest of microscope, has two holes for mounting traditional stage clips. |

This is an electronically illuminated binocular microscope with a trinocular revolving nosepiece. It is signed, "American Optical Corporation," "fifty" with the serial number 823198. The microscope is painted gray. The device is in excellent shape with only minor wear visible and some chipped paint near the base. There is a sticker on the back which reads "Huron Road Hospital 3390." |
