The mirror of this device is very clear. The objective and eyepiece are both present. The stage moves along the arm while the tube remains stationary. There is a ring of diaphragms below the stage. The device has a round base with a cloth lined bottom. The finish is quite clean. The stage is painted and there is some minor corrosion. Chevalier produced microscopes from his Palais Royal workshop between 1831 and 1859. |
