This is a Replica Rara reproduction of a Leeuwenhoek microscope; Replica Rara logo plainly visible on the plate; tiny lens mounted between a pair of plates riveted together; mounting bracket is screwed to the plates via a flat handled screw; threaded hole in the bracket mounts a hand operated screw that moves the mounting pin up and down; a sharp pin is used to fix objects in front of the lens; second hand screw adjusts distance between pin and lens; pin itself is removable, and held in place by a screw. |

This is a replica of a Leeuwenhoek microscope. It consists of a tiny device made of two plates attached to each other and containing a very small lens. There is a needle to hold the object under investigation along with two screws to adjust its position, both of which are rather flimsy. The finish is very clean and the device was donated with a display case consisting of a wooden base and a glass cover. |
