Notes |
This is a compound monocular microscope in its case. The case is wood and the top is somewhat loose. There are gouges on the top and the bottom is unfinished. The sticker left by the dealer on the lid reads "Kiel's Antiques Inc." There is a small gouge on the bottom of the inside of the box, and a support on the lid has broken off. The device is brass with a black painted stage aand round brass base. The mirror is dirty, possibly corroded. The top of the arm reads "Boucart paris." there is an eye piece and one small objective. The stage clips are missing and there are no wear marks on the stage. An eyepiece and objective are attached, neither of which have any identifying marks. The objective has external threads, indicating it is a continental style multi component objective, but the other parts are missing. There are some paint splotches on the arm and discoloration around the base. Otherwise finish is clean. The tag calls it an English student microscope. |
